About me!
Hey everyone! I am Melissa Potts. I am a mom of two beautiful kiddos and a wife to an amazing husband. I have been a Registered Nurse since 2004 and have spent majority of my time working in the ICU. I have enjoyed my time at the bedside immensely. I have seen and learned so much for that job. However, something just seemed missing.
My youngest entered Kindergarten in 2018 and I found myself needing a hobby. The only thing that I have ever been interested in was taking photos. So, I purchased my first DSLR camera and began to learn photography. Now, there are many self taught photographers at there. However, that was not going to work for me. I enrolled at Vincennes University in the Spring of 2020 for photography. Now, this began the craziest time in my life. I was going to school learning about photography and absolutely loving my time there. Then, life as I knew it changed completely. COVID-19 hit and remember, I am still a nurse, so I continued to work on my schooling and on the weekends, was in the ICU taking care of the sickest patients I have ever seen. Photography was such an amazing outlet for me to escape while working with COVID. In 2022, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Vincennes University with an Associate of Science Degree in Graphic Design with a concentration in Photography.
Photography is such an amazing way to express yourself. I love being able to bring out my client’s personality in a photo or to show raw emotion. I am always looking for new and challenging ideas to for my clients. Nothing is impossible!!
